Discover Obstetric SUSIE The Original Childbirth Skills Trainer, an advanced simulator for the training of a variety of routine and complicated delivery techniques. The manikin allows for multiple birthing scenarios and students are able to practice providing care throughout the whole birthing process and postpartum. This is ideal for the use of medical, nursing and midwifery students, as well as healthcare professionals with an interest in an obstetrics and gynaecology specialty.
The trainer comes with realistic anatomical landmarks of the lower female torso, along with a baby girl and baby boy, each with an umbilical cord and placenta. The stomach and diaphragm are removable so the foetal babies can be placed in the desired position.
The multipurpose simulator allows for multiple baby delivery scenarios and enables users to gain confidence in the following procedures:
- Normal vaginal delivery, with normal delivery of the umbilical cord and placenta
- Caesarean section delivery
- Complete, frank, and footling breech birth presentations
- Ritgen’s manoeuvre
- Episiotomy exercises using the vulval inserts
