The Giant Eye Model in Bony Orbit is a gigantic, 6x life-size eyeball model and is constructed from unbreakable vinyl. It can be dissected into 8 distinct parts and it is positioned within its bony socket, offering a more comprehensive view of its relationship with major blood vessels, muscles, and nerves. The model illustrates all 6 muscles responsible for eye movement, and the upper portion of the eyeball, housing the lacrimal (tear) gland, can be removed.
The Giant Eye Model in Bony Orbit features the extractable superior and lateral rectus muscles, the iris and cornea, which can be removed together, the Lucite lens that magnifies and inverts images, and the transparent vitreous body which allows you to view the fovea centralis on the retina. Furthermore, the choroid coat, retina, and optic disk are visible, and a schematic cross-section through the layers of the retina is presented.
This model is meticulously labeled with 77 hand-numbered features, each of which is explained in the accompanying key. Additionally, a reproducible black line copy master with numbered parts, corresponding to the model, is included, facilitating the creation of illustrated study sheets. The answer key is conveniently provided on the reverse side of this copy master.
