Discover the Urban Search and Rescue Training Manikin, a versatile manikin which is designed for Urban Search & Rescue (USAR) training but is equipped with many other applications. The manikin is most suited for the use of organisations specialising in search and rescue, e.g., the Police and Fire & Rescue services, at both national and international levels.
An innovative feature of the USAR manikin is the Shoutbox feature, enabling users to personalise a recorded message of up to 60 seconds in length which can be repeated periodically or as a response to a rescuers voice. The manikin is anatomically correct and gives the ??feel of an unconscious person, further simulating a true-to-life situation.
To ensure durability, the manikin has been constructed using the same flame-retardant material found in Police ballistic/stab vests. This makes it durable and tough enough to withstand being buried under heavy objects or dropped from height without damage. Despite its toughness, the joints of the body are soft and eliminate the risk of pinch welts and bruising, common injuries that can occur when using plastic bodied manikins. The material is also water repellent and suitable for wet and foul scenarios, e.g., chemical biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) defence.
Overall, the Urban Search & Rescue Training Manikin will enhance search and rescue training sessions. It comes complete with a Shoutbox, boots and overalls that are easily replaceable, when damaged. For extra protection, tough drag protectors can be purchased separately. It should be noted that the manikin is not suited for use in temperatures above 100 degrees Celsius, flashover scenarios or in deep water.
