A newer version of the award-winning SIMone birthing simulator by 3B Scientific. The birth trainer uses patented haptic response technology to provide students with a complete and realistic training experience in simulated high-stress birthing situations.

The specially developed visual and audio interface and force feedback mechanism allows trainees to confidently learn and develop the skills necessary for performing complicated procedures and practice instrumental delivery.

The SIMone 1019599 (P80/1)also trains students in:

• Recognizing the right moment to select a vaginal assisted delivery
• Correct handling of medical instruments for delivery
• Assessing position of foetal head in relation to the maternal pelvis
• Labour management using a partogram
• Medication administration to achieve progress during delivery
• Interpreting foetal heartbeat and uterine contraction through a CTG
• Interpreting respiratory sounds
• Interpreting the sounds of pain experienced by the mother

SIMone consists of a female abdomen with a vulva and the spina ischiadica as landmarks. Inside the simulator is a foetal head with the sagittal suture and fontanelle for determining the position and approach of the head. The touchscreen monitor displays an exact image of the position and rotation of the foetal head within the mother's pelvis.

3B Scientific's monitoring software provides information on the progress of the birth and allows training in intervention both through the use of medication and the use of or forceps. A variety of customizable delivery scenarios are presented in the monitoring software so that modified model-based training is possible. Additionally, the cardiotocograph and partogram support the assessment and progress of the delivery scenario.

The monitoring software developed by 3B Scientific displays the information on the progress of the birth and enables the practitioner to intervene, using medication,Ǩamniotomy, ventouse or forceps. The birth scenarios are customisable to enable modification of the training. Cardiotocographs and partograms enable the student to assess the progress of the delivery. The SIMone birthing simulator is designed so that in less than 60 seconds a new birthing scenario can be initiated.

Included with this SIMone birth trainer are, 1 vacuum hand pump, 200 ml lubricant, 1 Naegele forceps, 2 replacment genital inserts, Latex-free disposable gloves (M/L), an assembly tool and operating manual.
