This 4-Piece Artery Model consists of a cross-section of an artery demonstrating atherosclerosis, in which the narrowing of the artery is due to a build up of fatty tissue (cholesterol) and plaque. The 4 stages illustrate:
- normal artery
- fatty streak
- fibrous plaque
- blockage
The stages cause a decrease in blood flow, which can lead to a blood clot or thrombus. All stages rotate on hinge pin. This atherosclerosis model is ideal for patient education to explain the anatomy of the artery, and the effects of cholesterol.
Artery cross section comes with an information key card included.
