Discover the Bariatric Conversion Suit, a training suit that has been constructed to enable the conversion of any Adult Duty Range Manikin into a bariatric model. The product is suitable for individuals or organisations delivering bariatric training, including emergency rescue training or general moving and handling procedures.
The suit is an innovative and essential addition to organisations facilitating bariatric training that are limited in space or storage. In comparison to the bariatric manikin, transportation and positioning of the conversion suit is easier and feasible even by just one individual. This makes it more efficient, as training scenarios can be set up by one person.
When empty, the suit alone weights approximately 5kg and around 7kg, with the bag and adapters. The overall weight of the training manikin with the conversion suit depends on the initial weight of the manikin. For example, a 30kg manikin can be converted to a 180kg bariatric patient once the suit and water is added. The manikin, once filled, is designed to be carried safely by a team of at least 4-6 people.
Construction of the Bariatric Conversion Suit using an extremely high specification Trilaminate of Cordura/Butyl/Polyester fabric, makes it waterproof, durable, and flexible. To prevent damage, it is not recommended that the manikin is to be dragged across rough surfaces. Furthermore, it should be noted that they are not suited for use in temperatures above 100 degrees, flashover scenarios or in deep water, so other manikins (e.g., Fire House and Water Rescue manikins) are recommended for these situations.

Additional pyjamas and carrying sheets can be purchased separately for easier handling and positioning. The Bariatric Carry Sheet has been LOLER certified with a safe working load of 600kg. For a realistic and human-like appearance, face masks and wigs can also be purchased.
