The Male & Female Catheterisation Trainer Henri / Florence is a professional training model that has been realistically created to simulate and educate medical students on correct transurethral bladder catheterisation in both males and females.

The carefully designed pelvic housing is modular, allowing for the use of both male and female genital inserts, whilst carefully maintaining the unique anatomical position.

The bladder guarantees an uninterrupted urethral path from the meatus to the bladder neck, whilst also accommodating the different anatomies. Both the male and female anatomical inserts are made with strong, durable, high-quality materials, and closely simulate real human tissues in both appearance and feel.

This feature has been designed to help prevent medical students from trying to “palpate” the back of the bladder, helping them to correctly gauge insertion depth. The bladder shape on this training model has been carefully designed with a unique type of valve, preventing unnatural resistance when the catheter enters the bladder. The bladder easily connects to the provided fluid bag which provides natural “urine“ flow following successful catheterisation.

The transparent bladder enables the students to see the catheter's position and depth, providing an excellent training experience on foley catheters as the user can see the balloon inflate and be seated.

The male genitalia module is excellent when it comes to teaching students when to use a larger or more rigid catheter. The male genitalia insert includes a replaceable foreskin with life-like mobility, allowing students to experience retraction, handling and other hygiene procedures. The four zones of the urethra are represented with corresponding anatomical shape and resistance during catheterisation. Additional to the above is a strap that, when attached to the model will simulate narrowing of the prostate due to BPH or prostate cancer.

The female genitalia insert has been designed to enable the spreading of the flexible labia, in order to locate the urethral meatus. Unsuccessful catheterisation is common with females due to the urethral opening not always being obvious, as it is located very close to the open vaginal canal. The urethra provides a life-like resistance and feels realistic during catheter insertion training.

This catheterisation training model is available with both genital inserts or as a male-only or female-only version. Upgrade from a single-sex model to a dual sex version with the individual inserts.
