This Multi-purpose Gastric Lavage Trainer has been created to help students carry out gastric lavage through the nasal and oral passage. This trainer details life-like landmarks including the trachea, oesophagus, lungs and stomach within the transparent abdomen window.
Practice gastrointestinal care procedures through nasal and oral access. Mucous-like fluids can be created to simulate a real-life patient. Maximise the training sessions and create realistic gastric lavage and suctioning by adding fluid to the stomach and lungs.
This multi-purpose gastric lavage simulator has been created as a torso body which can be positioned at 30° semi-sitting and sitting up position. There is also a 45-55cm distance between the central incisor and the stomach.
Measure gastric lavage in the following ways:
- Lavage via oral and nasal passage with a stomach pump
- Electric aspirator
- Gastric lavage tube
- Automatic gastro lavage machine
Many vital clinical nursing skills can be gained with this trainer, they are:
- Gastrointestinal decompression
- Collection of gastric juice
- Duodenal drainage
- NG tube insertion & irrigation
- Aspiration of oxygen
- Oral hygiene
- Gastric juice sampling
- Oropharyngeal and nasopharyngeal insertion and suctioning
- The simulated fluid can be drained away from the digestive tract after the simulation
The anatomical structure and transparent window of this gastric lavage trainer allows students to observe the anatomy whilst using the model. The anatomy that can be observed includes teeth, tongue, uvula, vocal cords, epiglottis, larynx, trachea, bronchia, lungs, heart, oesophagus, stomach, diaphragm, liver, gallbladder, pancreas, small intestine and colon.
