Unlike our standard digital products, Illustration Licences are subject to administrative approval. Your download will be authorised once your affiliation and intended use have been verified. You can expect to receive your image(s) within 1-2 business days.
By downloading an illustration from AnatomyStuff, you agree to be bound by our Terms and Conditions.
1. Grant of License
AnatomyStuff grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use our illustrations solely for the purposes defined below. This agreement does not convey any ownership; all intellectual property remains the property of Health Books UK Ltd. We reserve the right to refuse to grant a licence at our discretion. We may require proof of your affiliation with an academic or educational organisation (such as a valid institutional email) before your purchase is approved.
2. Permitted Use: Science Licence
This licence is for individual academic advancement and the sharing of research findings. Permitted uses include:
a. Academic Publishing: Inclusion in peer-reviewed journal publications, scientific papers, and academic theses.
b. Conferences: Display on physical or digital posters at professional scientific conferences.
c. Presentations: Use in one-off presentations for research defence or academic seminars.
d. Limitation: This licence is tied to your specific research project and does not cover general teaching or institutional marketing.
3. Permitted Use: Education Licence
This licence is for educators and clinical trainers delivering structured learning to others. Permitted uses include:
a. Teaching Materials: Inclusion in printed or digital course handouts, workbooks, and study guides.
b. Live Lectures: Use in classroom presentations and "synchronous" online lectures.
c. Internal Assessment: Inclusion in student examination papers and internal institutional quizzes.
d. Secure VLEs: Uploading to password-protected institutional platforms (e.g. Moodle, Blackboard, Canvas).
e. Capacity: Limited to one authorised teacher and an audience of up to 500 students per year.
For all commercial, website, or social media enquiries, or for use with audiences of over 500 students per year, please contact us.
4. Prohibited Uses & Restrictions
The following activities are strictly prohibited and fall outside the scope of the Science and Education Licences. Any such use will be considered a material breach of this agreement:
a. Public Online & Social Media Display: You shall not upload, post, or embed the illustrations on any public-facing website, open-access database, or social media platform (including but not limited to Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and Facebook). These platforms often claim sub-licensing rights upon upload, which is a direct violation of our ownership.
b. Unauthorised Commercial Purposes: Use for any commercial, promotional, or for-profit purpose is strictly excluded. This includes, but is not limited to, paid advertising, product packaging, mobile applications, or use by any for-profit entity. Commercial use requires a separate, bespoke licence agreement; please contact us to discuss your requirements.
c. Capacity Limits: Usage for an audience exceeding 500 students per year is prohibited under the standard Education Licence. Large-scale institutional use must be authorised via a bespoke agreement.
d. No Derivatives or Alterations: You shall not crop, manipulate, recolour, or create derivative works from the illustrations. The removal of any watermark, metadata, or copyright notice is strictly forbidden.
e. Unsecured Digital Storage: You may store the illustration on a single secure device or a password-protected institutional server (e.g. VLE). You must not host the file on any platform that allows third-party access or unauthorised downloading. All digital copies must be deleted within 90 days of the project or course completion.
f. Sublicencing & Transfer: You shall not sell, rent, lend, or sub-licence the illustration or the rights granted under this agreement to any third party.
5. Liability & Warranties
Illustrations are provided "as is" without any warranties. While we strive for 100% accuracy, these are educational tools and are not a substitute for professional medical advice or diagnosis.
6. Updates
These Terms may be updated from time to time without notice. It is your responsibility to regularly check this page to determine if there have been changes.
