Transform emergency airway management training with this impressive Suction Assisted Laryngoscopy and Airway Decontamination (SALAD) Simulator. It is a great piece of equipment for emergency doctors and nurses, paramedics and other front-line personnel.

The model which simulates a non-anaesthetised patient offers students the valuable opportunity to practise intubation, ventilation and suction.

Pre-emptively suctioning the upper airway reduces the risk of aspiration during airway management. Considering airway contamination such as blood or vomit can be fatal for patients, this is an incredibly important skill. Intubation and ventilation are also key emergency medicine procedures.

The model includes key anatomical landmarks:

  • Teeth
  • Tongue
  • Oral and nasal pharynx
  • Larynx
  • Epiglottis
  • Arytenoids
  • False cords
  • True vocal cords
  • Trachea
  • Oesophagus
  • Cricoid cartilage

The simulator offers room to manoeuvre and lies in a slightly anterior position. This allows it to be used for both introductory and advanced classes.

Key features:

  • Pressure can be applied to the cricoid cartilage to change the position of the trachea and close the oesophagus.
  • Manual carotid pulse using squeeze bulb is included.
  • Rigid suction catheter distracts lower mandible and tongue to permit laryngoscope insertion.

Skills aquired:

  • Practise oral, digital, and nasal intubation, as well as E.T., E.O.A., P.T.L, L.M.A., Combitube and King System insertion.
  • Permits suction techniques and proper cuff inflation with active emesis.

Contents include:

  • ??Airway Larry ? Adult Airway Management Trainer Head
  • Suction Canister
  • Gallon Container with Hand Pump
  • 2 x Simulated Latex-Free Lungs
  • Thickener
  • Rigid Suction Catheter

  • 5 x Pinch Clamps (2 small, 2 medium, and 1 large)
