The Advanced Multipurpose Intravenous Left Arm Option is designed as a training aid to facilitate proficiency in intravenous, intramuscular, and subcutaneous techniques. It is designed for use with the Simple SIMON Patient Care Simulator.
The training arm exhibits anatomical accuracy and features a realistic venous network spanning the arm and hand. In particular, users can identify the cephalic, basilic, antecubital, radial, and ulnar veins. To add further realism to the training experience, the needle's entry into the vein generates a 'pop' sensation.
Proficiency in performing injections is a fundamental clinical skill, especially for medical and nursing students. Intravenous access plays a pivotal role in enabling fluid resuscitation, drug administration, and a wide array of laboratory investigations. This highlights the significance of the training arm.
