Australopithecines are known only from Africa and have never been found in Europe or Asia. They displayed a mix of ape-like traits—such as long arms, curved fingers, a flat nose, and strong jaws—with small brain sizes (375–500cc). Yet, like humans, they had small canine teeth and lower bodies adapted for walking upright.
