The Bone Clones Forensic Trauma Skulls exhibit how the skeleton responds to a range of traumas. The traumas displayed are caused by hammer blows, gunshot wounds of medium calibre, machete wounds, and shotgun holes.

Male European Skull Model with Damage from Hammer Blows:

The cranium presenting blunt force trauma showcases two rounded and depressed wounds that align with hammer injuries. The smooth, rounded edges suggest wounds have healed. It also indicates that the individual survived for an extended period (presumably months or years).

Male European Skull Model with Medium Calibre Gunshot Wound:

Presented is a human skull depicting the consequences of a medium calibre bullet wound. The individual was identified as a 25-year-old European male. Two defects can be observed on the left side. One is a sharply defined semi-circular defect (entry wound) in the left frontal bone. The other is an irregular defect (exit wound) on the left side of the occipital bone. The exit wound vividly demonstrates the bevelling of the bone, indicating the direction of the bullet s trajectory.

Male Human Skull Model with Machete Wound:

The replica human skull showcases the traumatic aftermath of a machete strike. The skull has features consistent with an African male in his mid-30s. The machete impact resulted in a complex fracture pattern with fragmented pieces. The fracture runs across the left and right sides of the calvarium to the left side of the face.

Female Human Skull Model with Shotgun Holes:

This skull model features trauma inflicted by shotgun rounds. A prominent defect is found on the occipital bone and internal bevelling can be palpated along the edges of this distinctive opening. A second defect is found along the sagittal suture, inferior to the coronal suture, with subtle scalloping and shallow internal bevelling found along the edges. Fractures emanate from both defects, extending outwards in various directions.

The Bone Clones Forensic Trauma Skulls are a valuable resource for educating healthcare students on osteology and trauma patterns or for display purposes in classrooms.
