Homo Erectus displays more human-like traits than any earlier Homo species. Key features include a long, low skull with thick bones, prominent brow ridges, a flat forehead, sagittal keel, occipital torus, and a skull widest at the base. It also had a projecting face and a cranial capacity just over 1,000 cc. Fossils dating from 1.8 million to 140,000 years ago have been found in Africa, Europe, China, and Indonesia.
