The Bone Clones Hominid Skulls Collection are high quality casts of key fossil discoveries, including anatomically modern humans, archaic humans, early Homo, and other hominins, representing a valuable addition to anthropological and evolutionary studies.
The Homo habilis Skull – KNM-ER 1813 (1.9 MYA) is a debated early Homo specimen discovered in 1973 in Koobi Fora, Kenya. With a small brain size (510 cc), reduced face, and teeth, some consider it Homo habilis, while others suggest it may be a female Homo rudolfensis or even an australopithecine. Its worn third molars indicate it was an adult, supporting its classification as H. habilis due to similarities in cranial and dental features.
