This set of three TB testing arms has been designed to train students in the interpretation of the Mantoux TB test results, or to explain the reactions to patients.
Students learn to read TB test results by feeling for and measuring skin indurations. One beige model and the brown model feature variations in skin colour that typically occur around test sites. A second beige model lacks the appearance of erythema, reinforcing the idea that accurate assessment relies on measurement of the induration, not of any accompanying redness.
