This training model of a sow has been created to be 1/2 the natural size of a female pig. Designed for teaching purposes the 20-part, Didactical Pig Model by Erler Zimmer is great for veterinary and animal science students.
Installed on a wheeled base, this pig training model can be sectioned off into two parts, along its sagittal plane. On the right-hand side it shows the outer skin of the pig, and on the left, both body and limb muscles are presented.
When the two halves of the pig are separated, the left-hand side shows the chest and abdominal cavity, and the right-hand side shows the main blood vessels, the heart and the abdominal cavity wall.
This sow model comes with detachable organs which sit inside the abdominal cavity, the organs included in the left abdominal cavity of the pig are;
- 1 x lung
- 1 x kidney
- 1 x large intestine
The organs in the right abdominal cavity are;
- 1 x stomach
- 1 x spleen
- 1 x kidney with an adrenal gland
- 1 x small intestine
- 1 x uterus
This model can be separated into 20 individual parts and half of the didactical pig model's head can be detached from the half that shows the muscles.
