This Caudal Injection Training Model can be used to enable medical students to safely practise inserting a caudal block, an effective method of regional anaesthesia in infants. A 12 month old infant is represented, lying in the left lateral decubitus position with knees and neck flexed.
The paediatric caudal block simulator includes an anatomically correct coccyx with sacral hiatus for realistic practice, a removable spine, a correctly tactile spinal canal and both a transparent and opaque skin pad so that advanced training can be given. Proper placing of the needle will give fluid flow for either a lumbar puncture or a paediatric caudal injection thus giving the student the feedback they require. The paediatric caudal injection simulator is attached to a board for stability.
As well as the infant model, the set includes IV bag with tubing, two skin pads with spinal tubing and spine, baby powder, instruction manual and hard carry case. Please note: the fluid supply stand and needles are not included.
