The Paediatric Lumbar Puncture Training Model is a representation of a 10-12 months old infant in a left lateral decubitus position with neck and knees flexed, approximating the necessary fetal position. The embedded iliac crest provides superb realism while the removable spine, spinal canal and skin pad allow for simple and hassle free training. The model allows for lumbar puncture in L3-L4, L4-L5 or L5-S1 spaces. By palpating the iliac crest and spine the correct site can be located. A small 'give' can be felt as the needle is advanced slowly into the proper space and fluid will flow when the needle is in proper position. Includes lumbar puncture pad with spine and spinal tubing, IV bag with tubing, baby powder, hard carry case and instruction manual.
