The Port Access Arm is an optional upgrade designed for use with your existing Chester Chest training model. It features a dual-lumen 5Fr PICC (Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter) exiting via the basilic vein at the inner bicep reflecting commonly preferred clinical placement. The basilic vein is slightly raised to aid easy identification and improve training realism.
Positioned behind the PICC insertion site is a recessed area intended for placement of a peripheral port (illustrated but not included). The base of this recess is constructed from a soft material, allowing the port to “float” when accessed. A removable, tissue-like flap covers the area, providing a realistic experience when palpating and accessing the training port.
The Port Access Arm also includes a pre-positioned 20G IV catheter in the forearm for additional practice scenarios. Both the dual-lumen PICC and 20G IV catheter, along with the optional peripheral port, are connected to an internal simulated blood reservoir. This enables users to practise blood withdrawal and fluid infusion techniques. The model also supports demonstration of site cleansing, dressing application, and securement device placement across all access points.
Fully compatible with all Chester Chest models.
The Advanced Chester Chest with this arm installed is also available.
