Discover the versatile Shorter Adult Duty Range Training Manikin, a manikin which allows the rescue training of adults in various emergency situations. The manikin is ideal for the use of emergency rescue professionals, e.g., fire and rescue services, the police, and ambulance/EMS/HART teams. People vary in size and weight depending on their age and gender, therefore this manikin is a shorter version of the adult duty range training manikin. This is the only manikin specified by the British Ministry of Defence (MOD) and used by 100% of UK Fire & Rescue Services.
Numerous emergency scenarios can be simulated using the manikin, including:
- Confined Spaces
- Urban Search and Rescue
- Chemical/Biological Hazard
- Road Traffic Collisions (RTC)
- General Handling Exercises
The manikin is durable and made of heavy-duty polyester that is non-flammable and waterproof, therefore suitable for wet and foul scenarios, including chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear defence (CBRN defence). It is the same material used in the production of police ballistic/stab vests. This makes it durable and tough enough to withstand being buried under heavy objects or dropped from height without damage.
Additionally, the manikin gives an anatomically correct weight distribution, to ensure an effective and realistic training and give the ??feel of an unconscious person. The soft body joints eliminate the risk of pinch welts and bruising, which can happen when using plastic bodied manikins.
The Shorter Adult Duty Range Training Manikin can be purchased in other shapes and sizes, to simulate different age ranges (e.g., babies, toddlers, youths, and adults). It should be noted that, although the manikin can tolerate extreme conditions, when the temperatures are above 100 degrees, the Fire House Training Manikin is recommended and similarly, in deep water scenarios, the Water Rescue Manikin would be more suitable.
The manikin is a lifesaving and essential addition to the training and practice of emergency situations.
