SynTissue adult skin is engineered to replicate the realistic texture and mechanical response of human skin.

The surface features a lifelike texture, while the subcutaneous side is smooth, mimicking the anatomical structure of real dermal layers.

This advanced synthetic tissue includes multiple discrete layers, including a natural-feeling wear layer at the surface.

Standard adult skin exhibits a mean force of approximately 2N, making it an ideal replication for most areas of the human body such as the face, forearm, and groin. For applications requiring simulation of tougher or more callused regions like the abdomen or lower back, skins with penetration resistance values up to 10N are available. This range is significant, as the typical human pain threshold lies between 2–4N.

The SynTissue Adult Skin is available as a 20 cm x 20 cm plate, with a nominal thickness ranging from 1 mm to 3 mm. Skin toughness can be customized to meet specific testing needs, and a variety of skin tones are also offered.
