The key features of the Thermal Hood are:

  • Provides users with the capability to upgrade their current Ruth Lee Water Rescue manikin, transforming it into a unit with thermal imaging functionality.
  • The hood is crafted to provide a secure fit over the head of the manikin and is fastened firmly with a popper mechanism. This guarantees its stability even in the most challenging water environments.
  • Subjected to comprehensive testing in collaboration with Bristow SAR and multiple SAR operators based in the United Kingdom, using Thermal Imaging Cameras, at altitudes reaching up to 2000ft.
  • Manufactures using durable, woven material with a measured degree of flexibility, facilitating rapid and even distribution of heat throughout the garment.
  • The hood is actively heated through a 6amp battery, secured to the manikin's torso via a purpose-designed holster.
  • Expected lifespan of the 6amp battery is approximately 4 hours, subject to variants in the water's ambient temperature.
  • Integral components equipped with the battery include a watertight e-cord connector, a piezo switch, and an over-pressure valve.
