Improve emergency and combat trauma medical training with the highly realistic Trauma Leg Task Trainer “Trauma Tim”. Created in collaboration with the German Armed Forces, this simulator meets all important requirements for realistic and professional training in civil and tactical applications in accordance with current TCCC guidelines making it ideal for trauma surgeons, military medics, paramedics, nurses, and advanced first aid training courses.
The model realistically represents a human lower limb from the mid-lower leg to the thigh and features multiple severe, life-threatening injuries, including:
- Arterial gunshot entry wound (femoral artery)
- Arterial gunshot exit wound (femoral artery)
- Cut wound with arterial bleeding (anterior tibial artery)
- Stab wound with arterial bleeding (tibial artery)
A key feature of the model is its functional arterial bleeding system, which allows independent and manually adjustable blood flow from each wound to create highly realistic haemorrhage control scenarios.
Students can practise and perfect critical lifesaving skills such as:
- Applying direct pressure to severe bleeding wounds
- Packing wounds with gauze
- Applying pressure dressings
- Applying high & tight and proximal tourniquets in accordance with TCCC guidelines (tourniquet not included)
The trainer supports wound packing for exit and stab wounds and allows instructors to develop dynamic training scenarios with varying bleeding intensities. When the correct management is applied, including effective tourniquet placement, bleeding will stop.
An internal core simulates the bone structure of the leg, while the durable, high-quality silicone tissue accurately replicates human soft tissue and vascular anatomy. The anatomically accurate size is based on adult leg anthropometry and supports tourniquet widths of 40mm, ensuring realistic handling and application.
The simulation blood system includes a blood bag and connector, and a dedicated leg support is provided for stable and repeatable training setups.
