This flesh coloured patient simulator has a tactile feel and includes realistic puncture resistance of human tissue. This patient simulator can be accessed 1,000s of times, it has self-healing properties and can be refilled with VATA stain-resistant simulated blood.
For a realistic training experience, the top of the phantom has a curved contour, to demonstrate the importance of transducer positioning. The quality of the image viewed can be affected by the positioning of the transducer, something which is not possible on flat phantoms. The phantom can be accessed and images from multiple angles, including top, side or bottom surface, on the base or removed from the case. The movement of the soft tissue can be seen as the needle tip is guided toward the vessel. Successful accessing can be confirmed in two ways; seeing the needle tip in the vessel and by a blood return.

Contained within The Vascular Access Ultrasound Phantom are four vessels:
- Very small superficial vein (3mm vein ' 4mm deep)
- Mid-sized vein at medium depth (5mm vein ' 7.5mm deep)
- Mid-sized vein which bifurcates into two smaller vessels (Bifurcated vein 4mm where bifurcated and 7mm when they are one- 12mm deep)
- Larger deeply placed vein (7mm vein ' 20mm deep)

This ultrasound phantom training model is pre-filled with the VATA stain-resistant simulated blood, included is also a separate 2oz/60ml bottle of stain-resistant simulated blood, and a lightweight, compact, case to protect the Vascular Access Ultrasound Phantom when it's not being used.
Please Note: Failure to use VATA ultrasound blood can affect the image quality and will void the product warranty. The phantom is compatible with any ultrasound imaging system with an appropriate transducer.
