The Simple SUSIE Patient Care Simulator is a life-sized, female patient manikin, meticulously designed to replicate an extensive range of patient scenarios, thus fostering proficiency in general nursing skills. The simulator is especially suitable for use by medical and nursing students, enabling them to practice core procedures under the expert guidance of professionals.

The manikin is endowed with anatomical precision and boasts moveable joints at the head, jaw, elbows, wrists, knees, and ankles, resulting in a realistic training experience. It is augmented with a lifelike skin texture and complemented by a stylish wig, thereby resembling an actual patient.

It is designed to teach essential nursing skills including:

  • Ophthalmic exercises (the eyes are able to open and close)
  • Oral and denture hygiene (has a moveable jaw with removable upper and lower dentures)
  • The ear canal allows training in ear irrigation and the application of otic drops
  • Intramuscular injection training at various sites on the body, e.g., the deltoids, quadriceps, and the upper gluteal region
  • General nursing care skills such as bathing and bandaging, including an amputation stump
  • Tracheostomy opening for tube placement and airway management
  • Female genitalia for vaginal douching and pap smear exercises with a realistic vagina and cervix (note catheterisation is not possible)
  • Stylish wig for haircare exercises and surgical draping
  • Set of two decubitus ulcers, and an ulcerated foot

The Simple SUSIE Patient Care Simulator is characterised by its user-friendly design, allowing for a seamless transition between supine and sitting positions. For the purpose of convenient storage, the simulator can be flexibly bent and detached at the waist.
