Designed by medical professionals to meet the specific requirements of healthcare practitioners this Chest Drain & Needle Decompression Trainer is ideal for students who are training in thoracostomy and thoracentesis, both surgical or guidewire assisted.

This unique training model allows for needle thoracotomy to be completed in the second intercostal space in the midclavicular line and thoracic closed drainage in the sixth intercostal space in the mid-axillary line. As the needle enters the thoracic cavity a 'pop' is felt.

The trainer releases air upon insertion of the needle, this comes from the included needle decompression air reservoirs. The reservoirs can be filled with artificial blood or fluid, to simulate pleural effusion.

This medical trainer is made up of clavicle, ribs, manubriosternal joint, mammilla, pleural cavity, chest wall, muscle, vessels and nerves. It allows students to learn valuable clinical skills such as:
