This highly realistic kit, which is available in 2 different skin tones, includes both female and male genitalia models. Students will learn how to correctly insert and remove a Foley catheter, a fundamental clinical skill.
Students can use the kit to practice each step of the procedure:
- Correctly positioning the model
- Cleaning and preparing the area
- Administering lubrification
- Inserting the catheter
- Checking drainage and positioning
- Removing the catheter
The kit includes a disposable/replaceable bladder which holds simulated urine. When the catheter is inserted correctly, students will observe drainage and urine collection. This creates a highly realistic learning experience and provides students with valuable feedback about their technique and positioning.
Trainers can also use the kit to guide sessions about the indications for suprapubic catheterisation, catheter associated infections and common urological emergencies requiring urgent catheterisation such as urinary retention.
Additionally, both male and female models include the rectum. This can be used for insertion of medications such as enemas and suppositories as well as digital rectum examination practice.
