Discover the Offshore Training Manikin, a manikin specialised for emergency response training on oil rigs and gas platforms, as well as for accidents occurring during transit of passengers by sea or air. The manikin is more commonly used for rescue training within the shipping industry and is a hybrid manikin with limited use in open water. The tough nylon mesh carcass allows the water to penetrate the manikin quickly, causing the legs to drop beneath the surface, leaving only the head and shoulders visible, if desired. To promote proper casualty care, an immobilisation/extrication collar can be fitted around the neck of the manikin.

The manikins are constructed using the same flame-retardant material which is used in Police ballistic/stab vests. This makes it durable and tough enough to withstand being buried under heavy objects or dropped from height without damage. It should be noted that although it is durable, it should not be used in temperatures above 100 degrees Celsius, flashover scenarios or in open water without a life jacket. The use of drag protectors can protect and extend the life of the manikin.
